Lets Talk About How Some People Attacked A 16 Year Old For Talking About Climate Change!

Its has been a few days since Greta Thunberg, the 16 year old Swedish environmental activist gave a very strong and powerful speech at the United Nations:Climate Action Summit 2019 that perplexed all the powerful politicians even though it should not had.While the most people gave her respect for having the courage to even speak at such a high position, some people who were very vocal, which not only included grown men but also included grown women went on and criticized her in rather mean and disgusting ways calling her things and accusing her of being influenced and brainwashed by the left wing and calling her speech just an act.It is almost like these 'fully matured adults' got hurt by the comments made by a minor child and they thought it was OK to show their smartness against a child...a literal child who is not even 18 and is still growing and maturing, a child that still does not have proper development and is still in her adolescence, a child who is not mentally matured enough to have proper opinion yet, a child whose thoughts and ideas and ideology may change over time.It is not really climate change we are talking about here are we?We are talking about era where grown men and women are attacking a child on social media.Gone are the days when people used to have a constructive and mature thought process. Now days, it is all about following the bandwagon of hate.These hate mobs did not even thought once that she is just a child and they did not even think once that how this hate can affect her and although Greta is stronger and has lots of support, it does not change the fact that the hate reactions were completely moronic and in alternate circumstances, she could have easily been affected by it in a negative way. It seems people are too ignorant about climate change and although it is OK to not be completely on board with what Greta said and even I agree that most of what she said is not so black and white, it does not change the fact that there was some truth to what she said and that extinction will arrive sooner if something revolutionary does not happen.And you can say that just talking will not do anything but at least she started a conversation and had the courage to speak at such a huge stage about her passion while the haters did not do anything of value.It does not help them that she actually practices what she preaches.She does not even do Air-Travel!
And then there are also people specially celebs that pretend that they care about climate change while they are freely using their private jets and their AC cars all the time without second thoughts.And it is fine if they want to use those but the hypocrisy is just too cringey and the whole Moral High Ground thing does not really help them as it is proved that the rich have very high amount of carbon dioxide emission when compared to the poor.

And in truth, no one including me can hold a Moral High Ground and most people accept that.We know and accept that climate change is real and deep down,we are actually a little worried about it but we also accept that we cannot really do anything too much about it and that is completely normal.We cannot just change our lifestyle back to the ancient days as it is impossible.The best we can do is reduce meat consumption and reduce vehicle usage and plant trees and be much more cleaner and aware about our environment but thats about it.Its a shame that electric cars and other renewable forms of energy are not mainstream yet and they are still too expensive for most people.So the best we can do is hope for some technological revolution that actually breaks the system but as of now,GET PREPARED FOR AN ICE AGE!Yeah it is not easy to just change the system and yes politicians really love to care about the money and yes the politicians do not really have a magic stick to fix things that are beyond broken right now but this just shows that those outburst were the words of a child after all who is just passionate about this planet and it is shameful that so many people reacted in such a toxic matter.
